Developer Three One Zero is finally bringing their highly anticipated space simulation game, Adr1ft, to the PlayStation 4 next week.
Adr1ft is played from a first-person perspective and tells the story of Alex Oshima, a female astronaut who is stuck on the wreckage of a space station with no memory of the events that have transpired till that point. From there, the player must keep herself alive while trying to figure out how to return home safety. Along the way the character must solve various puzzles and collect audio logs and artifacts in order to piece together information, all while under the threat of a constantly depleting oxygen source.
Announced back in June 2014, Adr1ft has been in development for the PC, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, with PC being the first to receive the game back in March. The game also has a presence on VR platforms such as the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, which has led to speculation as to whether or not Adr1ft will be compatible with the PlayStation VR. Considering that even many high-end computers have trouble keeping up with the game’s requirements, the chances of it running on VR on the PlayStation 4, with its limited hardware capabilities, is very slim.
While Xbox owners may have to wait a bit more for the game, PlayStation users can pick it up on July 15th for $19.99.
