Originally revealed back in 2013 as a third person, adventure puzzle game in development exclusively for the PlayStation 4, Developer Tequila Works has now Revealed that Rime has dropped it’s exclusivity and will be heading to other platforms.
This information comes via a brand new Rime Re-Reveal Gameplay Trailer that was put out by IGN, in which it was revealed that the game is still in development and will now be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and the PC.
This new trailer comes after over 2 years of dead silence by developer Tequila Works, during which time rumors had started circulating that the game had been cancelled. This rumor was further fueled by the fact that the developer had also cut publishing ties with Sony and reacquired the rights to their IP back in 2016.
The game still retains it’s signature cartoonish art style, and the new trailer showcases some of the beautiful and varied environments that will be available for the players to explore, including beaches, ruins and underwater structures.
Rime is now set to be released in May of 2017, and promises to deliver a deeply personal journey through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast.
