Perhaps one of the most iconic characters in the Street Fighter franchise, Akuma had been largely absent form Street Fighter V. In fact, the most recent appearance of the character actually came from trailers of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution instead.
Now, a short teaser trailer was shown at the Red Bull Battle Grounds in Seattle during the Capcom Pro Tour finals. In it, we get a brief shot of Akuma’s back to the screen, but as long time fans will notice, the Kanji on his clothes is different from previous appearances. How this will impact the character, or bring any changes to him, we will just have to wait and see.
Players can get their earliest hands-on time with the character at the PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, California which will take place between 3rd and 4th December. After this, Akuma will then arrive in the game as the seventh DLC character, following others such as Urien, Juri, Ibuki, Guile, Balrog and Alex.
Earlier this year, the game’s story mode, A Shadow Falls, released which helped bridge the story gap between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III. It also introduced characters Balrog and Ibuki into the roster.
Released back on 16th February, Street Fighter V is available now on the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
