Assassin’s Creed Unity PS4 Version Screenshots Leaked, Confirm Sub-1080p Resolution

Assassin’s Creed Unity is going to be released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in just a few days. The game received plenty of criticism recently when it was revealed that it will run at 900p on the PS4 and Xbox One because Ubisoft wants parity among both consoles.

Now that the game is out in the wild, we have got our hands on leaked screenshots of the game directly from the PS4. A curious look at the screenshots confirm sub-1080p resolution (likely 900p). Looking at the image quality, it appears to be operating below 1080p. Ubisoft has already announced the console resolution to be 900p, and sure enough, a quick pixel count reveals a native resolution of ~1600×900.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is attempting a brand new experience in the Assassin’s Creed universe with focus on co-op gameplay. The game will also sport a revolutionary new A.I technology allowing the game to render hundreds of crowd on the PS4 and Xbox One. This is one of the main reason why the game is not possible on the Xbox 360 and PS3. Instead, a brand new Assassin’s Creed game titled Rogue is specifically in development for these two previous generation platforms.
