Batman Arkham Knight: Here’s How To Remove 30 FPS Cap And Intro Movies

Batman Arkham Knight is out now on PC and unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be a great port. While the PS4 version of the game is a rather solid effort, handled by Rocksteady Studios internally, the PC version of the game was outsourced to Iron Galaxy studios and early reports don’t really put it in a positive light.

The game currently struggles to run at solid 30 fps even on a good rig and has frequent stutters and frame drops, impacting the experience of the game. There is also a curious oversight for the PC version which forces the game to run at 30 fps essentially locking players out of an unlocked frame rate. Thankfully, there is a simple trick to unlock the frame rate and remove the 30 fps cap from the game.

If you want to remove the 30 fps cap from Batman Arkham Knight, follow the instructions below.

  1. Go to Installation folder of the game.
  2. Navigate to Batman Arkham Knight\BmGame\ Config\BmSystemSettings.ini
  3. Locate “MaxFPS=30” and change it to whatever you want.

The game also has a seriously of intro movies that can be bothersome after starting the game multiple times. There is a simple trick to remove them though, by simply deleting or renaming the following files StartupMovie and StartupMovieNV from Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Knight\BMGame\Movies folder.
