Battlefield 5 Officially Shown With A Gameplay Trailer; No Season Pass Or Loot Boxes

EA DICE has finally given us the first look at the gameplay for Battlefield 5. They have been teasing it for a while now and even updated Battlefield 1 to add an easter egg that confirmed the reveal date for the game.

Battlefield V is set during the World War 2 setting. It is the first game in the series this generation to not feature any kind of Season Pass unlike Battlefield 4 and 1. This means those who get Battlefield V at launch will enjoy the full package and get all future DLC content free in an update.

If you have played the past Battlefield games, EA used to make a Premium subscription that granted access to new maps and other forms of service. This has been ditched in Battlefield 5 and instead the focus is on making sure that everyone who gets the game enjoys the additional map packs free of cost.

As for the loot boxes, EA confirmed to Kotaku that there won’t be any randomized loot boxes in the game. It reportedly features cosmetic loot boxes but their design hasn’t been finalized yet. This can still end up in the game but we will have to wait for further information from EA DICE which might be shared as the game gets closer to launch.

Battlefield 5 will be released on October 19th for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
