2K Games has officially confirmed BioShock: The Collection after screenshots of the trilogy were leaked by the studio’s own website. The newly remastered collection comprises of BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite, along with all their DLC. The Collection releases in September for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Along with all three games, BioShock: The Collection will also include Imagining BioShock, a commentary feature by director Ken Levine and lead artist Shawn Robertson. Here’s the official announcement trailer:
A few points worth noting are that BioShock 2’s multiplayer will not be included, and the PC version of BioShock: The Collection will not include BioShock Infinite because “it already meets current-gen console standards and runs smoothly on high visual settings.”
Blind Squirrel Games is the studio responsible for developing the compilation. The company also collaborated with Irrational Games for the release of BioShock Infinite.
To top it off, the collection will be available on September 13 for $60 for the aforementioned PS4, Xbox One and PC.
2K also worked on ‘Borderlands: The Handsome Collection’, a remaster of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel after the original games fared increasingly well. The company seems to be taking the same steps with BioShock, and as expected, the announcement was met with positive fan feedback.
