I’m buying the disc version day 1… is there any way to pre-download the patch to my PS4 so I can start playing the game straight away?

  • Brandon Myers

Well, I am taking Tuesday off of work.

  • Danny

Why even bother getting a ps4 if you don’t have internet lol times have changed in gaming internet connection is a must bitch all you want but that’s how it is and will be for a long time that’s why they can release broken games and just send patches to.fix the problem if you can afford the console you can afford the internet.

    • Popovici Catalin Stefan

Danny i know you must be a retard, if you like the game this much don’t need to be an ass hole, buy it, enjoy it! I have high speed internet, in my country internet it’s very cheep and it’s the 2nd fastest in the world, if i turn my wi fi on right now i’ll find at least 3 unsecured internet connections too (not that i need but just saying) so internet it’s not and never had been a problem, but this doesn’t mean i am willing to buy a half finished game with a 3gb of content downloadable because they didn’t feel like delay the game 2 weak’s and they assumed wee all are like you with gum instead of brain and buy any thing they have to throw out ther on the market, so no internet is no problem, unfinished games are, and maybe i don’t wanna depend on their server to get major content that should be on the disk in the first place, maby i wanna colect this game and play it with my grand kids 60 years from now when that server with the patch will be long down, if you are ignorant, and stupid, keep it to your self buy it, live in the internet era, and in your stupidity !

      • Danny

Hahah why the insults are you mad bro? I never insulted anyone why you feel to is your issue have fun.

    • Unknowingreaper

True but what about troops and people who can’t access the Internet? Because you have it doesn’t mean everyone does

      • Danny

Lol that’s what I mean sorry for your luck it’s the same for me if I didn’t or couldn’t get internet for whatever reason I wouldn’t get a ps4 lol would you get a computer if you had no internet connection? No you wouldn’t so what I’m saying is wait till you have internet and buy a ps4.

        • Danny

I understand it sucks but man it is what it is.

          • Chris Engels

i dont have ps plus im getting bloodborne why be a dick about people trying to enjoy the game?

  • TrollKiller1

    Cant wait for the game!!

On another topic, posters need to stop feeding the trolls like the poster who tries to turn this thread into a whining session about 1st day patches. I mean, seriously?

  • Popovici Catalin Stefan

WTF?!?!?!?! i can’t believe this 3gb of day one patch, sony said it will reduce it’s 1st party games day one patch, 3gb?! don’t get me wrong people i live in Romania, it has the 2nd or the 1st internet speed in the world and it’s cheep those 3GB it could take me a couple of minutes to download and i don’t have the fastest internet option on the market, not even close. So many of you will say well what’s the problem then? The problem is, i am sick and tired of this sheet to be throw at us, gamers, the market with no regard, with disgrace, SHAME ON YOU FROMSOFTWARE, SHAME ON YOU!!! I really really hope with all my hearth and soul that this game will be mediocre, will review poor, and fail to sell, i really hope that they will loose a lot of money with this game, and i really hope that i will live to see games lounching with a day one patch of couple of Mb at most, i understand they need to make fixes, they support the game, but key features of the game are missing from the disk and they don’t give a f..k here download this patch take it half digital half on the disk! I will call the retailer now and cancel my preorder i seriously encourage you people to do the same, to expect more from your money because money mean hard work, and developers like this don’t give a f..k about that, it sell you a broken game witch needs 3GB of patch? wtf?! Please don’t fall in the temptation to buy such games, stop encourage the industry to go this way, wayt for other games this spring will see other good games save your hard work invested in those money, AGAIN SHAME ON YOU MONEY MILKING MACHINES, i can’t express enough how dissapointed i am disgusted, if this continue’s i will sell my console and be done with this, i am tired of hoping every time for each game that it won’t have such huge day one patch.

    LIST OF SHAME

    GTA 5 1.14GB
    DYEING LIGHT 1.75 GB
    BLOODBORNE 3GB
    EVOLVE 3GB
    LORDS OF THE FALLEN 5GB
WOLFENSTEIN THE NEW ORDER 5GB PS4, 7.3GB XO
    SNIPER ELITE 3 10GB XO
    The Master Chief Collection’s 20GB

    • GoldenDevilGamer

I know right, cause a 3 GB day one patch is totally money milking -_-
If you care about hard drive space, then let me tell you that Bloodborne is a 41 GB game, which is less than a lot of other games (The Order 1886 was 50 GB and it was a 6-hour campaign only game, Bloodborne is a 50 hour game with co-op and tons of replay value). With the patch, that’s only 44 GB. The game is already perfectly running, as said by the people who got to play early. The patch just improves on that. Look, lets say the game gets delayed to another week so these “upgrades” can be part of the disc, From Software might have found other problems and mill have to make another patch. What are they gonna do, delay it! Sure, if you wanna play Bloodborne in 2016, when they will stop supporting the game. But the problem you have is that you believe the game is broken and incomplete. Let me tell you that there are probably hundreds of people who got the game early and they said that the game works perfectly well and it doesn’t even need to be patched. The only reason why the patch is so big is because the patch is primarily adding online support. I think this patch activates co-op online.

      • Popovici Catalin Stefan

a day one patch of 3 GB scream it’s a broken game that need’s a lot more time, a game missing key features on the disk, it’s a sheet show, if you need 3GB of content worth on the first day it arives, that game isn’t ready, if it take’s you years to craft a game of 41 gb, and in 2 weeks it takes the game to enter mass production you add another 3GB to it, your game is crap, and if i heard right, beast transformation mode it’s not on the disk, it’s in the patch, and that’s a key feature of the single player campaign, it’s like rockstar sell a game, but you can’t drive SUV cars if you don’t download the patch first. It will be a mess, a glitch fest of unfinished product, i all ready hate it with all my guts it’s like they deliberately rush an unfinished game to the market just to take some money, ok you like the game, i had it on preorder i canceled, i understand, but this it’s an AC unity all over again and till people lurn to ask a full game on the disk for their full money, this will continue. i hope it will fail i hope it will be review really bad, i hope fromsoftware will lurn that hipe alone don’t sell games, and i thought this lesson was lurned back when watch dogs went out from the gates of hell, . In terms of delay, you delay the game till you have every major content on disk, and your day one patch have at the most some Mb, i don’t care about disk space i delete games and i install them no problem, i care about not paying to recive a spit in the face, to encourage this kind of practice, i care about my money, and i care to play games physical only not half digital. I am not the one who buy stuff just because it writes apple or fromsoftware or whatever on it, i don’t care about names and things like this i care about my money first and this ain’t worth a dollar ! Let us hope it will be a mediocre reincarnation of dark souls in a victorian era with strange guns that no one wanna play, let us hope that more people will see reason and stop playing and paying for unfinished games like this!

        • TrollKiller1

dont buy it then. and please go away.

        • GoldenDevilGamer

It’s not unfinished, the patch probably unlocks online co-op as I said in my previous statement, so it can prevent people with early access to not play online before release. And the 3 GB patch is only 7% of the game size so calling it “half on disc, and half on digital” seems like a joke. I do understand you’re point about unfinished games, but I think you’re categorizing Bloodborne is the wrong way. You can play the game in version 1.00 and it won’t give you the feeling of playing an unfinished game

    • Arcendus

Calm down and don’t download it or don’t buy it, then. Being “disappointed” and “disgusted” and ranting about it in the comments section on a website no one’s ever heard of is absolutely 100% pointless. I would wager this patch was planned as a way to prevent people who have early access to the game from accessing the online portion, hence that’s by far the most significant patch note up there. And making this argument about THIS game rather than AC Unity or Halo or any number of other games that are far worse day-one-patch culprits is really ludicrous. This game is not broken, it is receiving a patch. Compare this to how often you have to update your smartphone/tablet apps. Or how often Windows requires an update. Or how often OSX requires an update.

Be realistic. The ability to patch these things can be a GOOD thing and results in a game being supported by the developers rather than burned to a disc, released, and forgotten. This is not day-one DLC, this is a patch.

      • theshavenwookie

“Ranting about it on a comments section of a website no ones ever heard of” this is by far the funniest response I have read in while, thanks.

      • TrollKiller1

        heh heh well said

    • TrollKiller1

      rant much?

    • Guest11231

Dude, shut the fuck up. It is the modern world, patches are a thing. Get off your high horse and go make a game without any bugs and without a first day patch before you criticize and bring down others. Your hate and malicious behavior only makes you look like a fool.

    • James Allee

You forgot the most important one. Destiny.

  • jacksjus

This has to stop. Sony and MS both cannot assume that every gamer has access to an Internet connection. I get updates regarding additional content, but when need an update to get the game to perform as initially intended that is a problem.

    • Guest

Not to mention bandwidth caps and slow service speeds. And doesn’t it cost them money for the bandwidth and don’t they also charge like $40K for updates?

    • CraigPW1984

I agree. You should be able pay for a game and it function correctly with having to download a patch. A problem such as this makes me not want to purchase a game. It’s what turned me away from purchasing a game like the Silent Hill HD collection.

    • Exari

you know you dont have to dl it to play the game, right?

      • jacksjus

Did I say the game was unplayable?

      • TrollKiller1

        dont feed the troll

    • Luis Solia Ser

Just a bit of Info, the game is fully playable as it is right now, it’s just more improvements, i’ve heard it’s already steady 30fps 🙂

      • jacksjus

Maybe in this case. But that isn’t always the case. Some games ran noticeably bad out the box without a patch.

      • TrollKiller1

        dont feed the troll!!

        • JoeCurious

I’ll feed him if I want, who died and made you the king of the Internet?

    • meowmel

pretty sure you can play the game without the day one patch lol

      • jacksjus

Yes I know. My point is that without the patch you may experience some performance issues.

        • Danny

Than download the patch and stfu lol or don’t buy the game and stfu either way just stfu

    • Arcendus

I see what you’re saying, but these are simply the times. I think it’s reasonable to assume 99% of gamers will have an internet connection.

      • Popovici Catalin Stefan

It’s like you are saying no thing wrong with this restaurant, 99% of people can ignore the bugs crawling all over the place and keep eating. Ignoring makes you ignorant, stop spending on these unfinished games, let the industry learn wee value our money and hard work wee are not cow’s in a heard and they milk us, let them see that rush and unfinished games hurt their budget not bring profit!

        • TrollKiller1

actually its nothing like that at all.

        • Danny

You are literally too dumb to insult.

        • James Allee

Yes so unfinished that everything in the game is working just fine. And they even said the patch was for online stability purposes and for online itself. Sounds to me like that was the only thing missing. But wait you can’t play online without Internet? Then you wouldn’t need the patch in the first place. You want to play online but it doesn’t have online capabilities? Oh that’s right, since you have Internet you can download the patch. I’m sure everyone is fine waiting a little longer to play the game because like all souls game they’ve been full of content, lore, and a great community. So go talk about some other game and not bloodborne because you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

      • Danny

Exactly people just like to bitch even though we all know they will be buying this game and downloading the patch in the end lol.

    • TrollKiller1

      whine much?

    • Danny

Well if you don’t have internet this game will suck big time for you half the fun is online or are you just bitching about the patch? Cause if you haven’t noticed every single game that comes out has patch lol.

      • jacksjus

Look I have no problem with a healthy discussion, but if you refuse to read and comprehend what was posted then don’t bother to respond.

I think I was quite clear on it being about the industry as a whole and not just this game. In fact, Bloodborne didn’t even come out in my statement.

It’s funny seeing replies from overzealous butthurt fanboys that are quick to jump to conclusions based on what they though they read.!

        • Danny

I think your the one being butthurt lol

      • Unknowingreaper

Nah I played demon souls offline and it was fun same with dark souls 1. I played them late so the online community was bare. I didn’t go full online until ds2 and that game wasn’t the best

    • Mark

Sit back, relax… and have a big glass of WHINE!
