Borderlands: The Handsome Collection PS4 vs. PS3 vs. PC Direct-Feed Screenshot Comparison

Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is a remaster of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Prequel for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game’s visuals have been updated to run at 1080p resolution on the current generation consoles, in addition to having almost all of the DLCs released for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Prequel.

The question on everyone’s mind might be if this collection is a worthy remaster or just a quick crash-grab? The resolution has been upgraded to 1080p and the game now runs at 60 fps, but are there any other graphical enhancements in this collection compared to the PC release?

First up is a slider comparison between the PC, PS3 and PS4 version.

In term of performance, it appears that while Borderlands 2 is a pretty good port on the PS4 and Xbox One, The Prequel has issues on both platform including screen tearing on the Xbox One and frame rate drops on both consoles. Gearbox has confirmed that they will fix the screen tearing in a new update on the Xbox One.

What a shit comparison. Used the opening video for compairson?

  • Matt

Are there really comparison shots of the pre-rendered movie from the beginning…

    • The intro is not pre-rendered. It is real-time and runs at 30 fps on the PS3 and 60 fps on the PS4/PC.

      • Matt

It is pre-rendered… you can see the mpeg compression on last gen versions and PC.

      • Matt

The PS4 screen has mpeg artifacting as well.

better AA, and better colors on the ps4 version against the ps3 but not a major difference, and the ps4 holds its own against the PC, they look identical

They better! I had a ten year old laptop that could run this, not even gonna bother as I havent even tried to play BL2 since I built my new rig, and this psp lookin ass game is NOT why I spent $400 on a new graphics card, not to put down the psp as I still play that, ps2, wii/gamecube, n64, and eventually ps3 and 360 games on my pc when I have time, local splitscreen seems fun though.
