Originally leaked back in September by the Brazil Advisory Rating Board, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition was officially announced at the The Game Awards 2016 alongside a new trailer. We have now learned that the game will not be free, or offer any special discounts for that matter, for owners of the original game.
This information comes via Randy Pitchford, who took to Twitter to clarify and explain why this was the case. When a fan asked if the game would be free or discounted, Randy Pitchford replied by saying “Not possible – completely different publisher, era, platform.”
@Rob_Dagg Not possible – completely different publisher, era, platform (they were Games for Windows only), product/sku, etc.

When this statement then drew comparisons with the recently released Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, which was offered for free to owners of the original game on Steam, Randy Pitchford further elaborated by saying that Nordic Games had bought all past and future rights from a defunct publisher. Gearbox on the other hand, is just publishing someone else’s game.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition will include all content present in the original game, as well as a new Overkill Campaign Mode, 4K support for the PlayStation 4 Pro and updated audio effects.
The game is set for release on 7th April, 2017 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. Pre-ordering the title will also allow you to play as Duke Nukem.
