Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Gets New Update On PS4, Xbox One And PC

Treyarch Studios today released a small update for the recently released Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The Game Settings update, version, is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The new update was announced during The Race stream. One of the most important feature in this new update is the Spawn location altered in Free for All and Gun Game mode. Moreover, issues with some challenges have been fixed.

The update brings the following changes to the game:

  • Spawn locations altered in Free for All and Gun Game
  • Anti-Up issue in Arena mode has been fixed
  • Issues with some challenges have been fixed
  • Increased the amount of score earned in Search & Destroy as well as XP earned per kill (from 250 to 500)
  • Solo games in Zombies mode should no longer be joinable

Update: The PC Performance Update is out now on Steam.

Treyarch Studios further announced that they won’t be releasing any patch notes for upcoming updates, as most of the updates are minor ones and it doesn’t make sense to release a new update every week for minor changes. However, the developers promised to continue developing and testing out more updates and releasing them as soon as they are ready.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was released on November 6th, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam). A digital deluxe edition of the game is also available which includes Digital Personalization pack, A Giant Zombie Bonus map, Collector’s edition Personalization pack, Seasonal pass of the game and Nuk3town map.

Really? Their game is barely playable on PC and they’re just gonna let the PC community with that optimization mess?
They were so vocal before its release saying that it was gonna be their best PC game ever made. Now that it’s broken for a lot of people, they released one or two patches saying that they fixed the issue for i5’s and they’re done? What a joke.

runs fine on my PC. I’m not really sure what kind of dinosaur PC you have

Same, everyone says “barely playable”, even thought I get a constant 150 on all high/extra at 1920×1080 (specs gtx 970, i5-4690, 8 gb ram) The only issue was the one with 10 people in zombies on day 1 and a day or two after.

        • onikrulz

The issue happens for people who max out almost every setting. I’m guessing you have some settings ticked off, which clears up a lot of vram for the ‘extra’ textures

Haha not me. My thing is if i cant run the game at full specs might as well play it on console. Like i did with assassins creed unity. Game was horrible on pc. Plus I wanna play 4k. Seems like the 1080p games look better on consoles on my 70′ tv. Look a mess on pc tho lol.

The last 500mb patch that just came out made the game playable and enjoyable (still have a few issues in the cutscenes and little hiccups in the gameplay, but it’s a thousand times better).

According to your comment, it seems like patches make PCs more powerful. /s

My PC is enough powerful to run this game, the problem is (or was) the optimization so the game can work on a vast number of part combinations. It’s really annoying when people who have no issues with a certain game tell people who have to upgrade their PC, thinking that everyone having issues are retards You really think that 4 thousands people that bought the game on Steam don’t know how to check specs? Some people were saying the same thing for Batman Arkham Knight as well.

Anyway, like I said they just released a patch and it seems to have fixed most of the issues. I’m really glad about that.

Hey bro,did it increase the game performance after this patch,,plse let me know, what changes didi u noticed about the performance ?

          • Alkaporty

Just so you have an idea of my system:
            FX 8350 4.00Ghz
            R9 270x 2gb
            8gb ram 1600mhz
            Windows 7 64bits

The patch definitely helped the gameplay; the optimization is clearly better. I can now play the campaign at medium/high without any crazy fps drops. Same with the MP and Zombies. The thing is, there are still a few hiccups that hurt the overall experience. There are not as bad as they were before the patch, but there are still there. But since the patch just came out, I didn’t really mess around with the graphical settings yet.

Before the patch, the game was unplayable for me, now it is more than playable. Could be better though. This patch really gave me hope that BO3 may, after all, be the PC game it was meant to be. Just hope that this won’t be their last patch.

Edit: some people said that the patch actually made the MP and Zombies worst for them… so it’s hard to say.

            Thanks for the effort 🙂

          • tripalong .

How was the game unplayable for you? I run nearly the same setup as you. Only difference is Im on Windows10 and have 16gb or Ram. Other than that its the same. Well mobos are different Im sure. But still. I can run the game on high with low shadows just fine. 60fps locked.

I’m sorry, but there are hundreds of people reporting issues. There are people with Titan GPU’s saying Black Ops 3 is using all 12GB VRAM, which is absolutely insane. Many people with high end machines are reporting lag and crashes. The game is optimised poorly, and many people are having issues.

      • Ivan Johnson

Not me I have the titan 32gb ram 8 core processor. Runs close to 60fps. Rarely stutters. Only on the cut scenes when the faces get too close lol other than that gameplay is smooth. But advanced warefare gave me issues most when it released.
