Call of Duty Ghosts Might Be Real, Box Art Leaked

Everyone knows that we’ll be getting a new Call of Duty game this year like every other year but Activision hasn’t officially announced the game yet. Call of Duty 2013 or Call of Duty Ghosts as recent rumors looks to be leaked on British retailer Tesco Direct‘s website (the listing has been taken down) as noted by IGN.

In March, a popular YouTuber named Drift0r posted a video containing details about Call of Duty Ghosts which he claimed came from a very trust worthy source. So this is the second time we’ve seen Call of Duty Ghosts pop up in the rumor mill.

The listing also contain both Xbox 360 and PS3 version’s of the game’s box art so we have two confirmed platforms for the game if it is indeed real. The box art displays only the Infinity Ward logo on the front which if you weren’t aware are the developers of the original Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 with help from Sledgehammer Games.

The box art show’s off a solider wearing a familiar looking balaclava, notably the one worn by Simon ‘Ghost’ Reilly from Modern Warfare 2 who died during the course of the game. Could this mean that Call of Duty Ghosts is a prequel of Modern Warfare 2? We can’t say for sure. Box arts are below (click to enlarge)

Along with the leaked listing there’s also a leaked Target ad floating around the Internet (pictured below) promoting the game along the Wii U. The ad lists Call of Duty Ghosts’ release date as 5th November 2013 which is around the same as other Call of Duty titles.
