CDPR: No Plan To Implement HDR Support For Witcher 3 On PC, PS4 Update Next Year

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received a brand new update today for the Xbox One X. This update implements support for the Xbox One X hardware by adding a performance mode along with 4K resolution support. The surprise new feature was the inclusion of HDR support for The Witcher 3 which didn’t happen with the update on the PS4 Pro.

Recently, CD Project Red Community Manager, Marcin Momot, was asked about their plans for support for the PS4 Pro and PC. Marcin replied that the PS4 Pro support is also coming ‘after new year’s’ while they currently have no plans to implement any HDR support for PC.

The Witcher series originated on the PC and was pretty much exclusive to it until the release of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition for the Xbox 360. The lack of HDR support for the PC users might disappoint the fans, so hopefully CD Project Red can reconsider their plan for the future.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Xbox One X update is now available for download and features a high resolution mode with improved visuals, and a performance mode that runs at dynamic 4K but targets 60 fps. Both of these modes support the newly added HDR.

The Witcher 3 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
