Developer 17-bit has just released the launch trailer for its forthcoming two-dimensional sci-fi space shooter, Galak-Z: The Dimensional. The game’s levels are procedurally generated, and each playthrough provides a unique experience to players. Its art style takes inspiration from classic space anime from the 80s.
The launch trailer can be seen below.
Galak-Z was first announced prior to Sony’s E3 2013 press conference in June 2013 for the PS4, PS Vita, and PC, with a tentative Q2/Q3 2014 release date. Since then, the game had been pushed to 2015, with the PS Vita version getting axed in the process. The game’s Unity engine as well as its intense physics & AI were cited as the reasons behind the Vita port’s cancellation.
Galak-Z: The Dimensional will be available for the PS4 on August 5, while the PC version will arrive a few months later. Stay tuned for our review in the days to come.
