Dark Souls 1 Confirmed For Xbox One Backwards Compatibility, Comes Free With Dark Souls 3 Pre-Order


Dark Souls 1 is being added to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility according to a listing on the official Xbox Live Store, which confirms Dark Souls 1 as free pre-order bonus for those who have have bought Dark Souls 3.

While there is no time frame given on its launch, we can be certain that it should be available closer to the launch of Dark Souls 3 considering the fact that it is being offered as a pre-order bonus for the game. The same deal is currently in effect for Quantum Break, pre-ordering the game gives the players access to Alan Wake: American Nightmare along with the original Alan Wake complete with its full DLCs.

Dark Souls III

Dark Souls 1 was rumored to be backwards compatible at launch so it is great to see it finally being a part of the lineup after the release of Dark Souls 3. This will also make Xbox One the only console to have the complete Dark Souls series playable.

Dark Souls 3 is set to release on March 24, 2016 in Japan and April 12, 2016 in the rest of the world. The game is being developed for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One by From Software and published by Bandai Namco.
