Dark Souls 3 Is The Fastest Selling Souls Game On PC, More Than Half Million Sold On Steam

Dark Souls 3 is definitely shaping up to be a record selling game in the series on Steam after its launch on April 12th. The game was released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One earlier this week and while we don’t have a data for the PS4 and Xbox One version of the game, we do know the PC sales figure, which has already surpassed more than half million on Steam.

Dark Souls series has achieved incredible success on PC. It was never going to get released on PC until a group of fans decided to launch a petition asking for a PC verison. This petition garnered more than 100k votes for the PC version which forced the attention of Bandai Namco towards the community on PC. The series has now sold more than 4 million copies on Steam, without counting the recently released Dark Souls 3.

Dark Souls 3 was released on April 12th but it is already setting new series sales record by selling more than 500k copies on Steam. It also has the most concurrent users for a souls games, surpassing the record by Dark Souls 2 after its launch on April 24th.

Dark Souls 2 was released after the PS3 and Xbox 360 version on April 24th, 2014. According to a screenshot of the Steam Stats page after its release, the game reached a peak of 79,528 users 4 days after its release. Dark Souls 3, meanwhile, is currently sitting at a peak of 115,857 concurrent users 3 days after its release.

Dark Souls 3 is available now for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It was developed and published by Bandai Namco.
