Destiny 2 Beta was finally made available to all PS4 users who pre-ordered the game and had early access to the Beta. While the initial launch of the Beta didn’t go as smoothly, the rest of the Beta worked fine after fans calmed down. Destiny 2 Beta reportedly has support for the PS4 Pro so it is interesting to see how Bungie have managed to implement this support considering they claimed that the game will support 4K resolution for the PS4 Pro while refusing to acknowledge the same for Xbox One X.
YouTube channel Candyland has made a detailed comparison between Destiny running on the PS4 against the PS4 Pro version of the game. They also notice that the game suffers from frame pacing issues, which was also the case with the original Destiny Beta but was fixed in time for the official launch. Perhaps Destiny 2 will also get fixed in time for launch but as it stands, the Beta suffers from frame pacing issues on both the PS4 and the PS4 Pro.
The visual difference between both platforms isn’t that huge. The PS4 Pro version runs the game at a better resolution, has better texture filtering along with a better depth of field effect. There is not much to go on judging from the video however the biggest difference is arguably the resolution. The game doesn’t appear to downsample for users that are playing it on a native 1080p screen so those who have a 4K screen can enjoy the benefits of the PS4 Pro.
Destiny 2 is set to launch on September 6th for the PS4 and Xbox One. The PC version will be released on October 24th and it support 4K resolution and 60 FPS unlike the console version of the game.
