Destiny 2 Locks Out Shaders To One Time Use, Tied To Microtransactions

Destiny 2

Destiny 2 might be several steps forward in term of the Quality of Life changes that the developers have made in the game but there are also some setbacks that have left fans puzzled because the changes made here make no sense.

One of the change as discovered by reddit and NeoGAF users is that the Shaders are now just one time use only, instead of being unlimited consumables like it was the case in the original Destiny. This might not be a bad thing but while the shaders are now improved and provide a more diverse set of customization option for weapons and armor, they can only be used just one time.

You might be able to get more shaders from bright engrams but they can also be purchased through real-life money, so in essence, the shaders are now a part of the eververse microtransactions that have been introduced in the Destiny sequel.

Destiny 2 is out today for the PS4 and Xbox One. If you are one of the new player to the game, you might have a look at the Destiny Item Manager application. There are also reports of the game causing crashes on the PS4 or PS4 Pro and Bungie have confirmed that are looking into the issue.
