Following Divinity: Original Sin and the upcoming console and PC release Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (EE), Larian Studios is returning to Kickstarter to secure funding to make Divinity: Original Sin II. Details on the game are unknown at this point, though Larian is calling it “its most amazing work ever.” With the Kickstarter campaign launching on 26 August, we will know more about it soon. As they did with the previous game (attracting $944,000), Larian is turning to Kickstarter to gather funding for the project Divinity: Original Sin II. They have been asking their fans to give their opinions and suggestions about the things they want to see in the game before they launch the Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds for the game. You can share your thoughts and vote at Original Sin II’s official website.
The developer launched a Kickstarter campaign for Divinity: Original Sin in March 2013. The crowdfunded campaign collected more than double of its $400,000 goal, covering several other goals. After some delays, the game finally arrived on June 20, 2014 on Windows PC. It’s also available for Mac and in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The Kickstarter campaign for the sequel is going to launch later this month on August 26. According to the studio, at the end of August the game will have a playable prototype at PAX prime.
