The Division Is The Biggest New IP Launch In Its First Week

Ubisoft has revealed some interesting sales result for Tom Clancy’s The Division. According to Ubisoft, the game has been a massive success for them becoming the biggest new IP launch in its first week ahead of Destiny and Watch Dogs.

Tom Clancy’s The Division also set launch day sales record for Ubisoft becoming their best selling game in its first 24 hours of release. It has also set digital sales record across PSN, Xbox Live and Steam.

Tom Clancy’s The Division managed to generation $330 million during its first five days on sale worldwide. It also had around 1.2 million peak concurrent users during its launch week and more than 100 million hours were played in its first week.

Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot shared the following statement on the massive success of Tom Clancy’s The Division.

“The Division taking the top spot in the industry for first-week sales of a new franchise is a tremendous achievement. We are very proud of our teams, and humbled by and thankful for the millions of players who are giving us their feedback and support,” said Yves Guillemot, CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft. “The Division is the latest example yet of our unique ability to deliver immersive gaming playgrounds that keep players engaged, and that they eagerly share with their friends and community.”

Ubisoft has plans to support the game post-launch and will release the first major content update for the game in April following by the first expansion this summer.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
