DOOM 4K Update Is Live For PS4 Pro And Xbox One X, Comparison Between Both Inside

DOOM has received a brand new update for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X support that also implements support for the 4K resolution. Since the game runs at a dynamic resolution, this new update just makes the upper limit set to 4K on both platforms.

The download size of the new update is a little over 2 GB and it should be available to download now on the PS4 or Xbox One. The PC version has also received an update although it is currently unknown what changes it implements along with it.

The comparison below is between the Xbox One X version before and after the new patch taken by resetERA member Greebman. (Top = Before, Bottom = After)

Another comparison shows the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X version lined up to show the difference. It appears that the higher resolution works really well on the Xbox One X although neither version seems to hold up closer to 4K for the most part, which confirms that it is still dynamic 4K while retaining 60 FPS.

DOOM is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game was developed and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is also available to play on the Nintendo Switch but there have been a lot of visual compromises to make the game run on Switch aside from a downgrade to 30 FPS.
