The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition announced for PS4 and Xbox One

During its E3 press conference today, Bethesda’s Todd Howard confirmed the often-rumored remastered version for Skyrim, titled The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition. The remastered title is being developed for the PS4 and Xbox One, and will feature several graphical upgrades over the previous generation iterations.

A trailer for the Special Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can be seen below.

New graphical effects include volumetric god rays, screen-space reflections, dynamic depth of field, new water and snow shaders, and more. In addition, these new console versions will also feature mod support, much like Bethesda’s other open-world RPG Fallout 4.
