Bethesda Softworks has released a quick fix for Fallout 4 on PC related to a game crashing bug. This bug was caused by an issue with the xaudio drivers and this latest fix will resolve this issue for those who were experiencing it on their PC.
Bethesda’s Community Lead shared details on how to update to this 1.1.30 Beta Update on PC.
To get the beta, you need to do the following:
- Log into Steam
- Right Click on Fallout 4 in your Library
- Select Settings
- Select Betas
- A drop down menu will appear. Select beta – 1.1.30 Beta Update
- Select OK.
- Wait a few minutes for Fallout 4 should update.
- When done, Fallout 4 should appear as Fallout 4 [beta] in your Library
If you decide you don’t want to run the Beta anymore, redo steps 1 – 4. At the drop down, select NONE – Opt out of all beta programs.
If you were having issues with the game crashing to desktop on PC, it is recommended to download this latest update in order to resolve this issue.
