Bethesda Softworks has released a brand new update for Fallout 4 on the PC. This update adds an optional High Definition Texture Pack for the game on Steam, which weights in at around 55 GB. However this texture pack also bumps up the system requirements by quite a bit, which should be interesting to compare against the regular textures in the game.
NeoGAF user GavinUK86 and reddit user BrettonTT have shared some screenshot comparisons before and after installing this HD Texture Pack and it is hardly noticable improvement unless we literally examine every detail with a closeup. Those who prefer to view every in-game texture up and close might be able to get some use out of this texture pack, but in general gameplay, the improvement is so minimal that the added size doesn’t seem to be worth it.
In addition to the HD Texture Pack, Fallout 4 will also get official PS4 Pro support this week that will support 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro while also adding new or improved visual effects to the game.
Fallout 4 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. It was developed and published by Bethesda Softworks.
