Fallout 4 set record sales at retail stores, 12 million copies sold in one day


Bethesda Softworks today announced that its award-winning game, Fallout 4 is generating record sales at retail stores and via digital download for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Bethesda released approximately 12 million copies of the game worldwide to meet day one demand, which made a huge revenue of over $750 million. The collector’s edition of the game called as Fallout 4 Pip-Boy edition, sold out within hours of its availability.

Majority of the leading retail stores confirmed Bethesda Softworks about the interest of consumers in the game. Fallout 4 was the most pre-ordered game in 2015. Moreover, Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition was the fastest-selling collector’s edition of any game in the history at retail stores.


Digital edition sales of Fallout 4 also broke all the records. On Steam, Fallout 4 became the number one game played in terms of concurrent players, surpassing the previous record for concurrent players with over 470,000 Fallout players. Fallout Pip-Boy also topped the charts on the iOS App Store. Fallout 4 set the record as the most viewed game of all the games launched in 2015, according to Twitch.

Fallout 4 has won over 160 awards at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) including the coveted Game Critics Award for ‘Best of Show’.

Fallout 4 was released on November 10th, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam).
