Far Cry 3 Renders At Native 1440p On PS4 Pro And Xbox One X, 30 FPS On All Platforms

Far Cry 3 has received a quick remaster for the PS4 and Xbox One. This remaster also comes with support for a high resolution on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

YouTube channel VGTech has shared a detailed analysis on Far Cry 3: Classic Edition and confirmed the resolution and frame rate for the game. According to them, the game renders at 900p on Xbox One, 1080p on PS4, and native 1440 on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. The frame rate is sadly limited to 30 FPS on all platforms and seems to drop on most platforms but it is generally more stable on the Xbox One X.

PS4 renders at a native resolution of 1920×1080. Xbox One renders at a native resolution of 1600×900. PS4 Pro renders at a native resolution of 2560×1440 and downsamples this when outputting at 1080p. Xbox One X also renders natively at 2560×1440 even though it is currently not listed as Xbox One X Enhanced. The PS4 Pro appears to be using a form of post-process anti-aliasing and the other three consoles don’t seem to have any anti-aliasing.

Far Cry 3 is available as part of the Far Cry 5 Season Pass. It will be released as a standalone game after one month. There are also rumors about a retail release for the game.
