Far Cry 5 Confirmed To Run At Native 4K On Xbox One X, Ditches Performance Mode

Far Cry 5 was listed as supporting 1800p resolution on Xbox One X by Best Buy, however this appears to have changed with the launch of the game as Digital Foundry has conducted their own analysis of the game and confirmed that it runs at native 4K. There doesn’t appear to be any indication of a performance mode for better frame rate even though it was originally listed as having one on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

In their technical analysis, Digital Foundry were impressed with the visuals and the technical makeup of the game, especially on the Xbox One X. The game runs at native 4K resolution compared to 1620p resolution on the PS4 Pro while both version of the game maintain solid 30 FPS. The Xbox One and PS4 version target 1080p and sub-1080p respectively however the Xbox One version also suffers from performance issues and screen tearing during heavy effects.

Far Cry 5 is an open world game developed on the Dunia Engine by Ubisoft. It also features complete co-op support for both the story and multiplayer. The game is available to play now on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can also read our review of it from here.
