Far Cry 5 Sells More Than Half Million Copies On Steam Within A Week

Ubisoft has struck gold with Far Cry 5 which is quickly outpacing its predecessors on Steam in sales. The game launched on March 27th and has already sold more than half million copies according to sales tracker SteamSpy. The success of Far Cry 5 speaks more about the open world formula established by Ubisoft which they have successfully implemented in their recent games including Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Far Cry 5 is set in a fictional location in America. It features a religious cult that appears to have taken control of a small town population with their own military and soldiers. They don’t hesitate to resort to violence in case the locales don’t abide by their rules. The head of the religious cult is Joseph Seed along with his family including his brother and sister.

Far Cry 5 is available to play now on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game is also greatly optimized on the consoles while supporting native 4K on the Xbox One X. Ubisoft has also confirmed a season pass for the game that comes packed in with a remaster for Far Cry 3 in addition to three different spin-off DLCs.

Far Cry 5 is currently being sold for $59.99 and available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. You can read our review of the game to learn more about it.
