FIFA 18 Servers Reportedly Go Down As Players Report Issue With Online Multiplayer

FIFA 18 appears to be the latest major service that has been taken down in recent times. Sony’s own PlayStation Network has struggled this past weekend after facing major downtime and now users are reporting that FIFA 18 on PS4 is causing issues for players when they attempt to play a match online.

There is a giant megathread on reddit that deals with the server issues and it has more than 200 comments so far. Some of the users who are commenting in the thread have confirmed that they were booted off from a match that they were playing online. Others are also showing a strange error that states that matchmaking appears to be disabled for them with the following message.

Some users have managed to contact EA Support chat which hasn’t acknowledged any issues with the server. Twitter users are also reporting issues with the FIFA 18 servers as they are unable to access the FIFA Ultimate Team. This all comes after the downtime on the PlayStation Network last week. We have reached out to EA for an official comment and will update this article once there is something to share on this matter.

FIFA 18 was released last September for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. It is the latest game in the long running yearly FIFA franchise and the second in the series after the transition to the Frostbite Engine.
