Final Fantasy X-3 could happen, claims Scenario Writer

Final Fantasy X, originally released on the PS2, is considered one of the best games ever and commands a huge following. The game received a sequel in the form of Final Fantasy X-2 on the PS2, X-2 was the first sequel to a mainline Final Fantasy game.

Fans have always requested Square to expand on the world of Spira. According to an interview with Final Fantasy Scenario Writer Kazushige Nojima in the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Ultimania Book, a third game in the mini series could be possible.

“If there’s enough demand, then we may possibly see new developments,” claims Nojima “I would personally like to see a sequel like X-3.”

Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster hits western stores next year on the PS3 and PS Vita. Would you like Square to make a Final Fantasy X-3, possibly on the new consoles? Let us know in the comments below.

I’d be happy with a remake. I have followed the final fantasy series since 1993 and love it. I myself prefer the old school atb style fighting, but I think squares biggest fan base generates around the sphere grid. I really would like to see a 3rd with everyone in it from final fantasy x and x-2. If they could get the game play in x-3 to be close to star ocean till the end of time I think it would be a worldly hit. Square in the future should make a mixed game with characters from final fantasy 7 through 10. A reunited group to save the planet once again. Maby have a sin like boss that goes to each world and brings them together somehow. Memoria from final fantasy 9 could be a good example to somehow intertwine them all. Of course it would be a whole new world that none of them have been to and whatever is disturbing this land could “destroy” the very existence of the universe not just the world itself! Just some thoughts from a forever follower of the great series!
