Final Fantasy XII Remake Announcement Was A Mistake, Clarifies Distant Worlds Producer

Final Fantasy XII was in the spotlight recently for a potential announcement of a Remake/Remaster of the game. This announcement was made by Arnie Roth at Distant Worlds in Pittsburgh.

Once the news of the announcement made it to every major news outlet, the producer of Distant Worlds, Arnie Roth has clarified his original comments stating that he was talking about the Final Fantasy XII concert arrangements and not a Remake of the game.

Check out his full statement below.

Dear friends,

In response to comments posted by fans, I want to rectify a statement made from the stage Saturday night at our Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY concert in Pittsburgh.

Following conversations with composer Hitoshi Sakimoto regarding new concert arrangements of music from FINAL FANTASY XII, regrettably, the term ‘remake’ was used in error during one of the announcements that took place from the stage during the concert.

We sincerely regret any confusion this has caused.

Final Fantasy XII Remaster was originally teased by Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase in an interview. Square Enix still hasn’t commented on a potential remaster for the game.

Let us know what you think about this news in the comments below.

  • Counterproductive

I am not disappointed by this news.

    • Yoshinori Kitase had stated in an interview that he would love work on a XII HD Remaster after FF X so I am sure it will eventually be confirmed at some point, just not now.
