Final Fantasy XV Has Completed Its Pre-Beta Development, “Lots More” To Reveal In March 2016

Final Fantasy XV is a game that has been long stuck in a development hell. Originally starting as a spin-off to Final Fantasy XIII, it was a new game in the series headed by the acclaimed Tetsuya Nomura of Kingdom Hearts fame. Unfortunately, despite multiple trailers and an initial reveal that dates back to 2005, the game was never released.

It was not until E3 2013 that we finally heard about the game being renamed to Final Fantasy XV and now shifting to PS4 and Xbox One. Hajime Tabata was revealed to be the co-director along with Tetsuya Nomura and he later took the game completely from Nomura, while he started working on Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy VII: Remake.

Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has finally shared an update on the development progress of the game. He revealed that the game has now finished its pre-beta phase and they will reveal lots more info at the upcoming March 2016 event, including the release date. Check out the official tweets below.

Final Fantasy XV received a short demo titled Episode Duscae earlier this month. This demo was exclusive to day one editions of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and gave the players a short slice of the full game.

Final Fantasy XV is currently set for a release in 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
