Hajime Tabata is co-directing the game. For those of you who do not know, Tabata-san was the director of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Type-0. Since the game is being developed using Direct X 11, PC fans are speculating that Square Enix might release the game for the PC due to it’s support of this tool. Square Enix is considering a PC release and want fans to display demand. On top of that, Square Enix is also considering the use of handhelds such as the Vita and tablets for use with Final Fantasy XV’s features.
Regarding the battles, it has been confirmed that players will be able to switch between three characters (i.e: party members) during battle. We have already seen Noctis, Gladiolus and Prompto in battle. We have yet to see Ignis’ battles in future trailers along with the newly revealed character, Cor. Players will be able to climb onto monsters and use combat vehicles, as seen in the 2011 trailer.
Final Fantasy executive producer Shinji Hashimoto has said that Square Enix’s “dishonest” days of withholding information about games in development are now over. Expect regular updates regarding the game from now on.
Lastly, he said that he hopes players will embrace the new battle system. Square Enix will look forward to the players’ feedback.
