Square Enix held an Active Time Report today to reveal more details about the upcoming major update for Episode Duscae. This new update has now been confirmed for a June 9th release and it includes some major changes including new team attacks, improved lock-on mechanics, new enemies and new camping scenes.
Episode Duscae 2.0 was originally planned for a late-May release, but it was delayed to polish the game even further, and improve the frame rate and performance. Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata revealed that they were able to hit most of their major milestones in time for the patch and have managed to included it all in the latest update.
Check out a brand new video detailing the new features introduced in this latest update.
In addition to this, we also get to know more about the changes from Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV.
- The character of Stella is no more in the game. She was supposed to be the main heroine for Versus XIII. Luna has now taken her place and she has been developed from the ground up for the new story in Final Fantasy XV.
- The famous party scene where Noctis gets attacked by the invading country has been removed. The events regarding the attack are still there, but they appear to have changed the sequence completely.
- The mysterious girl with black hair is still in the game. So is the female Dragoon who can be seen in the earlier Versus XIII trailers.
Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata also shared an important concept art for the game. This artwork was originally planned for Gamescom but Tabata decided to show it in its super early stage for the Active Time Report. This artwork showed a young Noctis hugging his father Regis who seems to be holding a sword. You can check it out below.
Lastly it was revealed that there is no new trailer or info planned for Final Fantasy XV at E3, instead, we are going to know more about the game starting at Gamescom. A new Active Time Report is also planned at Gamescom and will be streamed live from the stage there.
Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae 2.0 update will be out on PS4 and Xbox One on June 9th 2015.
