Final Fantasy XV Wins Game of the Year At Drago d’Oro 2017 Awards

Final Fantasy XV has proven to be quite popular in Italy as it easily managed to grab the award for Game of the Year at Drago d’Oro 2017. This award was received by the game director, Hajime Tabata himself.

Drago d’Oro is an yearly gaming related awards show that is considered the equivalent to Video Game Oscars in Italy. Aside from Game of the Year being awarded to Final Fantasy XV, Fumito Ueda also received his Lifetime Achievement award. Ueda has recently released his long time anticipated game, The Last Guardian for the PS4.

Aside from the Game of the Year and Lifetime Achievement award, the following games also won in their respective category.

  • Best Selling Game: FIFA 17
  • Most Innovative Game: Batman Arkham VR
  • Best Mobile Game: Pokemon GO
  • Best Graphics: Uncharted 4
  • Best Gameplay: Overwatch

Final Fantasy XV was released on November 29th, 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One. Square Enix has announced strong post-launch support for the game with monthly updates that add new content to it, including Timed Quest Hunts.

The first episodic DLC featuring Gladiolus as the main character is also currently confirmed to release in March 24th. This will be followed by Episode Prompto and Episode Ignis. While Episode Prompto has a release window of June 2017, there is no confirmed date for Episode Ignis.
