Final Fantasy XV has finally received an update on the Xbox One X. The update seems to be a rather significant one because not only it massively improves the resolution from the Xbox One to the Xbox One X, it also implement high resolution textures that will be a part of the upcoming Windows Edition. This was revealed by the game director Hajime Tabata in a livestream held for the launch of the Xbox One X.
Hajime Tabata had a pre-recorded video portion during the livestream where he talked about the enhancements that will be featured in Final Fantasy XV on the Xbox One X.
“There are mainly three ares where we enhanced the game, ” said Tabata in the video. “First, I am sure you all know, but since the hardware supports 4K TVs, we made Final Fantasy XV playable in 4K resolution as well.”
“The other major change was that we made the Final Fantasy XV world itself more high-resolution too. This was done by applying the same high-resolution textures from the WINDOWS EDITION which is currently in development.”
“The new GPU inside the Xbox One is not only endowed with better performance, but has significantly greater memory too, which made using these high-resolution textures possible. In fact, the visual quality inside the world of Final Fantasy XV is so much more intricate now, that in some scenes, it looks like you are playing a totally different game. The third major difference is that draw distance has been improved.”
Final Fantasy XV is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and will be released in early 2018 for the Windows PC. The game supports both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X with improvements to the visuals and performance.
