Forza Horizon 3 has finally received its long teased update for the Xbox One X. This update should be available to download now on the Xbox One X, and it is around 670 MB in size. The support for the Xbox One X is rather surprising since aside from the jump to native 4K resolution, which is a huge upgrade from the native 1080p resolution of the original Xbox One, the developers have also worked on improving the visuals bringing the game closer to a high-end PC version.
The developers have confirmed that the game now renders at native 4K on the Xbox One X with support for HDR. The improvements to the visuals are increased shadow resolution, improved visual effects and increased LOD and draw distances. The load times are also reduced now so you can jump into the open world faster and play through the different events.
Forza Horizon 3 is easily one of the best racing games released in 2016. It launched as an Xbox One exclusive and was part of the Play Anywhere initiate letting users who purchase it on Xbox One or PC have the other version free of cost. It is essentially cross-buy between both platforms and on PC, it is only available on the Windows 10 Store.
Early this week, Forza Horizon 3 was seen as an Xbox One X enhanced game on dashboard which is usually the case when a game is about to get official update soon, and this turned out true once the patch was released today.
Forza Horizon 3 is available on Xbox One and PC through Windows 10 Store. It was developed by Playground Games and published by Microsoft.
