Sony has officially confirmed the release date for the upcoming God of War on PS4. The reboot is now set to launch on April 20th for the PS4 and to celebrate this announcement, Sony has shared a brand new Story trailer for it.
God of War PS4 will feature the same old Kratos in a completely new setting. Norse Mythology is the central theme for God of War PS4 and the game will also feature Kratos’ son Aterus as a main character that is along with his Journey. It is being directed by Cory Barlog, who also worked on God of War 2.
The story trailer for the game can be seen below along with the confirmation of the release date, which is now set for April 20th, 2018.
The game will launch with a Collector’s Edition, Limited Edition and Digital Edition. There are also some pre-order bonuses that should be available to those who pre-order the game before the official release date.
The pre-order bonuses include Legendary Shield Skins and some in-game perks: Increase XP gain, Increase Hacksilver gain and Increase the ability to trigger Perks. They can be redeemed by pre-ordering the game from select European retailers.
The content of the Digital Deluxe Edition, Limited Edition and Collector’s Edition was also confirmed through promotional images, so if you are interested in them, make sure to see what collectibles and bonus you are getting with each version.
God of War PS4 is launching on April 20th and will be developed by Sony Santa Monica Studios. The game director Cory Barlog recently confirmed that there will be no Season Pass for the game.
