Grand Theft Auto products have generated $2.3 billion worldwide since GTA V’s launch

Grand Theft Auto V is quickly becoming one of the best selling video game by generating huge amount of revenue for Rockstar Games. It was originally released in late 2013 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 and was later ported to the PS4 and Xbox One, followed by the PC in 2015.

According to ZhugeEX, the game has achieved a total of 6¬†Guinness World Records, chief among them are the awards of “Best selling Videogame in 24 hours”, “Fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion” and “Highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours”. This was achieved with the game selling more than 11.21 million copies during the first 24 hours of its sale in 2013, which resulted in a revenue of $815 million.

Grand Theft Auto V has sold a total of 54 million copies so far. Take Two has also revealed that Grand Theft Auto products have generated a revenue of $2.3 billion worldwide from July 1st 2013 to September 30th 2015, which surely means a huge success for Take Two Interactive.

Grand Theft Auto V is currently available on the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
