Guerrilla Games: PS4 Is Easy To Develop For, Focus Is On Gamers First; Teases Next Project

Guerrilla Games recently conducted an AMA on Reddit and had quite an interesting response to some of the questions.

According to Guerrilla Games, they can’t really talk about their new IP but they teased that it might be open world. This was in response to a question asked by a reddit user regarding open world games from them.

Open games are a very different beast, and an unprepared team can spend loads of people and money making content for an open game (I used to work for Ubisoft, so I know the pitfalls to avoid). Thankfully, we have an ever curious technical team that is not resting on its laurels and investigating new frontiers that help us push our content in new an interesting directions. As for open, specifically, you’ll have to wait for the next game’s announcement to see what it does.

The last part is especially interesting since it talks about them hinting towards their next project being open world, which has been rumored for a long while now.

Guerrilla Games also consider the PS4 hardware easier to develop for, and focused on gamers first.

PS4 is amazing hardware for developers wanting to focus on gamers first. A lot of their APIs and features are easy to develop for, and reduces complexity so we can focus on the game experience more.

Guerrilla Games also confirmed that their new IP won’t be at E3 unfortunately.

    WTF? I have waited forever for them to show their new game at E3 and now it won´t be shown?? I´m afraid this E3 will be as underwhelming as last time when it comes to cool new games. Sure the ps4 reveal was awesome, but Sony showed far to little real new content. Come on Sony show us some cool games. I´m honestly more interested in Quantum Break than I am in any new Sony game at the moment and that includes The Order.

  • MrSec84 .

    The fact that Guerrilla Games are making a new IP is interesting in and of itself, but if it’s an open world game that could be an RPG is very interesting IMO.

    how come nobody knows how to properly type or edit their work anymore?

    “…that help us push our content in new an interesting directions.”
    an = and.

    Even when it’s quoted…..

      You’re not supposed to change a quote generally.

      how = How.
      nobody = singular -> their = his or her.

      Thank me later.

    The project doesn’t sound very interesting. We’ll see if they can pull of an RPG.

    • Wargreymon559 .

      How the hell you come up with that just by seeing open??

        More than likely the FACT that GG has been saying it’s an open world RPG for a couple of months now….Pretty sure it’s common knowledge at this point
