Halo: The Master Chief Collection In Development – Rumor

After yesterday’s announcement of Halo 5: Guardians, the Halo community is going crazy with excitement and a lot of new rumors have been going around regarding the Halo series.

Endgadget has reported, that Microsoft is collaborating with an unknown developer to release “Halo: The Master Chief Collection”. The Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of the previous-gen Halos which are upgraded for the Xbox One. Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 and the collection might not include Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach because the legendary Master Chief does not make an appearance in these games but that is not confirmed.

Fans suspect Sabre Interactive of being this ‘secret developer’ that is working with Microsoft. In the past, Sabre Interactive have worked on Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary which makes them the ideal suspect. There have been rumors of Sabre Interactive working on an unannounced Xbox One project which makes the rumors of them working on the Halo Collection that much more plausible.

Maybe this is what the Head of Xbox Division, Phil Spencer had in mind when he told IGN that “I will say I think one Halo game every three years — which was kind of our old cadence — is probably not frequent enough”. Hopefully there is an official announcement soon which puts an end to all these rumors and keep in mind that these are all rumors and not official news so kindly take this information with a grain of salt.

I think this could be likely, as it would be a major incentive for remaining 360 players to jump aboard the Xbox One boat.
I can see it including a port of H:CEA and an Anniversary edition of Halo 2. Possibly an HD “upgrade” to Halo 3 & Halo 4? We will certainly find out June 9 at 9:30
