Just Cause 3 Full World Map Size Revealed, Compared With Just Cause 2

Just Cause 3 will be officially out on December 1st but this didn’t stop the retailers from breaking the street date and selling early copies of the game ahead of the launch. As we have reported earlier, Just Cause 3 will require 37 GB of Hard Disk space on the PS4 for installation. Now we can also reveal the full World Map size for Just Cause 3, which the developers have claimed to be around 400 square miles.

First, it is important to mention that the world map is so huge that it is impossible to fit it in a single screenshot, which is why we had to stitch multiple screenshots to get the whole world map. That said, you can have an idea of the world map size by looking at the in-game screenshot and the fully zoomed in view of the world map.

The above location is called Baia in the game. You can see how the size scales with respect to the fully zoomed out (stitched) world map below.

Just Cause 2 also had a similar sized world map with a playable area of around 400 square miles just like Just Cause 3. However, the difference is that the terrain has been adjusted to allow for a lot of vertical movement as well. You can see the world map of Just Cause 2 below.

The world map in Just Cause 3 is indeed huge and together with the grappling hook and the new wingsuit combo, it is a lot of fun to explore. The game also offers fast travel between the liberated regions of the world in Just Cause 3.

Just Cause 3 will be released on December 1st for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Let us know what you think about the world map in Just Cause 3 in the comments below.

This article is acting like the excellent Just Cause 2 did not have any vertical movement. I had a lot of fun scaling the high mountains looking for secrets and parachuting down into valleys. The vertical movement Just Cause 3 seems to be adding is downward into caves. There were no caves in Just Cause 2 or any animals.

Just Cause 3 looks excellent on PS4, so I’m going to have a blast playing it. Going by JC2, the JC3 will be huge so it looks like I’ll be jumping back and forth between Fallout 4 which is also an excellent huge open world I’m fully immersed into right now. Good times to be had on PS4 🙂

The game isn’t out yet. s it comes out Dec. 1st

    • Technically, it is out in the Middle East 🙂
You are correct though, it was a mistake.

Seems like JC2 had more playable area. Hopefully JC3 makes use of all that ocean space in the bottom-left.

    • Just Cause 2 might have more land but it was barren. Just Cause 3 is designed to be more fun than barren.

Yes looking at the maps, JC2 had more land mass which surprised me, but a lot of it was barren jungle that all looked the same with identical trees. JC3 has filled every square inch with cool stuff and it all looks unique. Plus they have caves so that adds to the land mass on a lower level.
