Just Cause 3 Gets Major 1.1 GB January Update To Improve Performance On PC

Avalanche Software has released a brand new Just Cause 3 update for PC. This update will add support for the upcoming Sky Fortress DLC expansion which will add some new missions and vehicles to the game.

Just Cause 3 has plenty of stuttering issues even on a powerful hardware and as it stands, the game doesn’t really support SLI on PC. Avalanche Software has yet to comment on any future SLI support for PC.

It was revealed earlier this month that Just Cause 3 will get a brand new update for PC along with the expansion called Sky Fortress. This expansion is a part of the Land, Air and Sea Season Pass for Just Cause 3. In addition to an update for PC, Avalanche Software has also promised more updates for PS4 and Xbox One that will improve the game’s performance and optimize the load times.

Some users on reddit are reporting improved performance and less stuttering, but it doesn’t really apply to everyone as there are still people who are facing the issues even after updating to the latest version of the game on PC. The last major update for Just Cause 3 on PS4 and Xbox One significantly improved the load times of the game, as detailed in our comparison between the vanilla and the patched version.

Just Cause 3 is available now on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Square Enix.

The game is brilliantly fast since latest patch with no weird physics going on now from what i could tell playing it last night. Maxed out in 1440p it stays above 60 fps during fire fights, I haven’t seen any of the weird slowdown i was getting before on a 980ti. Still rubbish pop in right beside you when driving a car though. Grass just fades in around you. Also blurry and fuzzy backgrounds , especially buildings but it was like that before.
The game needs higher end graphics options and they need to push the lod out much further than highest setting allows at the moment. Still fun but flawed graphically. As i use gsync i never got any stuttering just that weird slow mo effect that happened and that now seems to be gone.

Mine won’t even run now. I get to the title screen, attempt to assist resolution, and crash.

Verify the game files and restart the pc. Your update may have gotten interrupted somehow. Happened to me twice while downloading this game. Worked fine after that. Works great now with latest patch.

How does one go around verifying the files? I’m still getting crashes every 20 mins it’s so fustrating!!

Hi there, Just right click on the game in steam , choose properties, then it opens up a menu with 4 options. Choose the third option ‘local files’ and then choose ‘verify files’ in that menu which is the last option i think.
It basically searches the game to ensure it matches what steam has on file , if it detects any discrepancy it reacquires those files.

aah found it thanks! ill try doing that and try it later, see i think this might be the problem cause i downloaded it on my laptop at a friends house then copied it over to my gaming pc, so shall try doing that tonight before i play the game

          • DEVILTAZ35 .

Highly likely that is the issue then , good luck 🙂

          • Adam Williamson

Yup! It was! Thank you so much, I played for 2 hours last night with no problems!

Awesome it is quite a fun game despite some of the negative reviewers 🙂

      • NeedleDickDoug

This was it, thanks. First time that’s been necessary.

No problem i have no idea why this game had such an issue with it.

    • darkheroz

i had this issue are you running with a ram amount under 8 gbs? after having this happen over and over again i went out and got more ram for a total of 16 gbs and it solved the problem

Still waiting to purchase this one….. I just can not stand when developers “back track” their development on a sequel of an older IP. I never understood that methodology.

    • doombadger

JC2 was made by Avalanche Sweden, the studio that also made Mad Max. JC3 was made by Avalanche New York.

      • YOUDIEMOFO

I understand that, but the whole idea of taking an IP from anywhere to anywhere and lessening/gimping capabilities of the game that were clearly present in the previous ones is not cool….

      • Sora96

Sweden also worked on it. They talk about it in the dev diaries.
