Kill Strain developer San Diego Studio has announced that a fresh round of invites have been sent out to a number of chosen candidates for the game’s beta. The PS4 exclusive free-to-play title was first revealed during Sony’s first ever Playstation Experience conference from last year. Since then, little has been known about the game besides the fact that it is a competitive multiplayer game that is played from the top-down perspective, involving team play between a 5 vs 2 vs 5 environment.
Here’s what the Kill Strain beta invitation email looks like:
As seen from the above email, a total of two sessions are held each week. The first session takes place on Thursday, while the second one takes place on Saturday. Both sessions are held between 5pm and midnight PST. The developer will also be adjusting the beta play sessions schedule starting next week. so if you’re in the beta, be sure to follow the schedule updates here.
Kill Strain offers a blend of a MOBA and a twin-stick arcade shooter. Two teams of five Humans compete against each other to gather resources and rack up kills, while a third team of Mutants fights and tries to infect both teams. Once infected, the humans become mutants. The twist here is that once a human has become a mutant, he stays that way throughout the match.
