Mad Max Looks Gorgeous On PS4 In These Direct-Feed Screenshots Using In-Game Photo Mode

Mad Max has been confirmed to be running at 1080p on both PS4 and Xbox One. It will be officially out next week but there are some lucky users who are already enjoying their time with the game, thanks to broken street date.

You can check out a set of screenshots below which are taken directly from the PS4. These screenshots are taken using the in-game Photo Mode that is featured in Mad Max. In addition to the Photo Mode, there is apparently a video editor as well that allows you to add various filters to videos in the game for editing purpose.

Mad Mad Video Game is based on the world created by George Miller and it is a post-apocalyptic open world action game developed by Avalanche Software, who are known for their work on the Just Cause series. It will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on September 1st.

Watching the IGN preview the clutter pop-in is horrific. My only hope is it was because it was running on PS4 and PC version won’t be as bad. Probably an example where the weaker consoles would have been far better running the game at a lesser resolution that the system could actually support.

You’d like that wouldnt you. But nope sorry, the PS4 can run it at 1080p, sorry, Get a X1 for lower res.

Why would I like that? The PS4 can run any game on 1080p @60fps if the developers want, the problem is the same as the Xbone, inferior hardware forces compromises, either compromises in resolution to achieve high visual quality, or compromises in visual quality (as here) for high resolution.

I have a PS4 and could buy this on PS4 if I wanted but I won’t because for one thing I don’t think this has the quality to warrant a $50 purchase, and as I mentioned I find the clutter pop-in to be especially jarring and off putting so I’ll be buying the PC version if it doesn’t have that problem.
