Last night, during the Game Awards 2016, Telltale announced their new project, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. This is the first of many projects that Marvel and Telltales will be releasing in the future.
Telltale did not reveal much about the project, however, they shared some information regarding the upcoming title. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series is set to come out in 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and mobile devices. The upcoming Telltale series will consist of five episodes in total.
This is something that many expected for some time now. Back in April 2015, Marvel announced that they are working with Telltale on multiple projects. Neither Marvel nor Telltale revealed any release dates for these projects.
In a blog post on Telltale’s official website, Telltale co-founder and CEO, Kevin Bruner said, “The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling,”
He continued by saying, “In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017.”
Telltale did not make any other announcements regarding Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. The developers did not even specify a release date for the title, however, we can expect more information regarding Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, due to the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in March, 2016.
