MediEvil Remaster Confirmed For PS4

MediEvil is a classic franchise that originally on PS1 and managed to come back on the PSP, but it has since gone back into the shadows ever since the release of the PSP game. The franchise was in spotlight a couple years back after a fan attempted to remake MediEvil in Unreal Engine 4, originally spreading the rumor as a leak. This was later confirmed to be fake however it seems like Sony has taken an interest in the voice generated by fans of the series and announced a remaster for the PS4.

The trailer for the remaster didn’t reveal much details and it was mostly a teaser that promised more details soon, but the official PlayStation Blog confirmed that the remaster is aiming at the same type of visual upgrade as the recently released Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which was also originally a PS1 game.

Hot on the heels of this year’s smash hit Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, we’re making another PlayStation fan dream come true: a proper, PS4-grade resurrection of the original MediEvil just in time for the game’s 20th anniversary.

You can watch the teaser trailer below.

MediEvil starred Sir Daniel, who was a master swordsman. The game perfectly blended horror elements into an action adventure. It will be interesting to see how much of the original design for the game is retained for the remaster.
