Metal Gear Solid V Is 720p On XB1, 1080p On PS4, Sub-720p On PS3/360, Comparison Shots Released

Konami have released a bunch of new comparison shots for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on the PS3/PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. They have also revealed the resolution and frame rate for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on various platforms.

According to the information shared by Konami, Ground Zeroes is going to run at 60 fps on PS4/XB1 and will run at 30 fps on PS3/360. It seems like PS3/360 will also have lower than 720p native resolution, which will be then upscaled to 720p(or 1080p). Meanwhile Xbox One is going to stay with a lower than expected 720p native resolution, compared to the native 1080p one of the PS4.

You can take a look at these comparison screens as well, shared by Konami on their official site for Metal Gear Solid V.

Despite being age old hardware, the PS3 and Xbox 360 version seem to hold up pretty well on their own. It is disappointing to see that the Xbox One version is still running at 720p but hopefully it means stable 60 for the game on the Xbox One.

What do you think about the difference between old generation and the new one? Let us know in the comments below.

The Xbone’s picture looks crisper than the PS4’s.

How come an 8 year old console look like the new ones, apart from the resolution. They are still using only half of the new consoles processing powers.

Of course. The new consoles are only months old. Disappointed to see that X1 is still 720p but it still looks really good. I think that when the next SDK is released and the devs learn how to optimize it the X1 will catch up.
