“Barely got anything in it”? This has the true multiplayer Metal Gear Online… for consoles at least. Try reading the article

I think its ridiculous that this update is 950MB when its barely got anything in it. Why are updates so big? Its seems as hardware’s gotten better, code has gotten sloppier.

Try actually making a AAA game or at least working as QA before opening your mouth to say something dumb. You think downloading a 1gb patch is bad? At least you’re getting patches. Before to fix a game it had to be re-released, which means to had to go out and buy the fixed version of the game.

The code hasn’t gotten sloppier. It’s gotten 10,000,000 times more complicated. There are hundreds of different parts that have to all work together.

To be fair I saw a much more detailed changelog elsewhere and after seeing that, the list of new content for FOB missions explains the size. The above changelog says virtually nothing so although the comment is reactionary and ignorant – it’s based on this article’s lack of information. Apart from the comment about coding which is just wrong.. I would have added these lines to this article instead of pointing to another article with the following lines in them.

        New “Event FOB” missions added!
        FOB insurance service begins!
New and improved missions for Combat Deployment (Online)! Rewards also get a huge boost!
New equipment added! A higher level of performance… Grade 7!
Night vision equipment can now be developed for your Security Team staff!
        Infiltrate without leaving a trace!
FOB expansion time reduction now available!
Improvements to on-screen UI elements and point scoring!
GMP and materials limits are greatly increased online!

code has gotten sloppier cause you cant handle a patch? get out.

    Let the microtransactions begin…

    • Peter Panic

Let the bitching about things I don’t need to buy begin.

      *There. Fixed.

      • WitWolfy

I’m bitching about it because its a FREAKING RETAIL GAME!!! Not a POS F2P game on Android or Iphone! If one company does it and see it makes money then eventually every 3rd party company is gonna want in. Good luck paying for a gamea you already bought.. Idiots.

Dont come bitching in 3 years time when you have to pay to press start to a game you already bought.

        • Peter Panic

Yeah, you’re a little whiney bitch.

          • WitWolfy

Thats the thing about opinions its like assholes, everybody has one.

    • Dex Luther

Yep, and people like you are the first to bitch when they talk about raising the price of games. It costs a hell of a lot more to make games these days, yet the prices haven’t gone up. They have to make money somehow.

      • WitWolfy

Yeah ok gramps. You’re whats wrong with the video game industry, if games like Witcher 3 dont need microtransactions to make a profit then who the hell does Konami? Becuase they’re greedy bastards?!

Keep on sucking on that Konami pipe gramps. Justifying a once great company for outrages microtransactions is just plain STUPID!

        • Dex Luther

Unlike you I actually work in the video game industry. 😉 Unlike you, I actually know what I’m talking about.

          You have two choices:

          1) Microtransactions.
          2) The base price of games goes up.

I haven’t defended anything. I’ve blocked all the MGS crap every way I can. I have no interest in it and haven’t bought a single one of the crap to protect the FOB from this stupid mechanic.

Still it doesn’t change the fact of what I said.

          • WitWolfy

Tell that to a country that doesnt already pays up to $90 per game.
