Microsoft are whittling away at their customer base

Love that noise?

So, we all know what has been happening in the last few months with the XBOX ONE, (a fiasco some might say) lots of disappointing information – and misinformation – culminating in one Godly mess.

Now, most of us gamer’s certainly love our headsets and peripherals so we get the best audio whether it be for hearing our enemies failed attempts at a humiliating stealth kill or just the general ambiance and epic music scores of our favourite games. At least the XBOX ONE has that going for it right?

At least not fully. The optical port will still lend itself to game audio via headsets such as Trittons, Turtle Beaches and Astro headsets but in order to use a microphone you must use the new port on the controller. Now this rules out the main headsets (You know, the ones we paid up to the hundreds of out particular currency for) for Mic support, not to mention the average wired headsets.

Microsoft had this to say on the matter:

“We are working with 3rd party headset manufacturers to create new headsets that will take full advantage of the Xbox One technology,” company representatives said. “We will share more details in the future.”

So just to reiterate, they aren’t quite content with everything they have released so far in the way of ‘news’ they also want you to buy new headsets…That they are working in conjunction with 3rd party manufacturers to make…

For example, Astro want to make a brand new headset for the next-gen console, all fine and dandy except now they have to develop two different variants, thus, driving up costs which ultimately land at our feet.

As usual.
